Harman noticed Stevie making signs begging for money. Stevie labours over them to pass time on the street while raising funds for accommodation. Stevie started out with bookie pens. However, after Harman’s initial £10 investment, he began to create a more diverse range of signs.

Since encouraging the making of these signs in 2015, paying £10 per sign, a collection of over 300 signs has now amassed.

“The work highlights one individual’s desire for shelter and time spent without it.”

Harman subsequently commissioned the creation of this four-poster bed in 2017.
